【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesprocedurestocomparetwoobserved-failurerates;-failureintensities;-rates/intensitiesofrelevantevents.Theproceduresareusedtodeterminewhetheranapparentdifferencebetweenthetwosetsofobservationscanbeconsideredstatisticallysignificant.Itisassumedthatthetimeintervalsto/betweenthefailures(events)areindependentandidenticallyexponentiallydistributedduringtheobservationperiod(thatis,theaccumulatedrelevanttesttime).NOTE-Thisassumptionimpliesthatthefailurerate/intensityisconstant.Itisfurthermoreassumedthattherearetechnicalorotherreasonstobelievethatadifference(eitheranimprovementordeterioration)mightexistbetweentheobservedreliabilitycharacteristicofthetwosetsofitemsundercomparison.Someexamplesoftypicalapplicationsaredescribedin5.4.Themethodsaredesignedashypothesistestswhichstate,withaspecifiedrisk(thesignificancelevel),whetherthetwoseriesofobservationsbelongtothesamepopulationorthesameprocess,thatistheyhavethesametruemeanvalue.NOTE-Failurerate,whichisrelevanttonon-repaireditems,isassociatedwithadistributionoftimestofailure.Failureintensity,whichisrelevanttorepaireditemsonly,isassociatedwithapointprocessdescribingase-quenceofevents,forexampletimesbetweenfailuresonatimeaxis.Theproceduresarenotrestrictedtocomparisonoffailurerate/intensity,butcanbeappliedtoobservationsoftwoseriesofanyrelevantevents,providedtheaboveassumptionsarevalid.NOTE-Thetwoseriesofobservationsmaybeofitemsfromthesamepopulation,orthesameitemunderdifferentconditions(forexampleenvironmentandload),orjustcomparableseriesofevents(forexamplecaraccidentsonaroad).Numericalmethodsandagraphicalprocedureareprescribed.Theobservationperiodsrelevanttothetwoseriesdonotneedtobeequal,butiftheyare,themethodsareverysimple.
