【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedtocomparetheglossofporcelainenamel,ceramic,andotherfinishesortoprovideacomparisonoftheirresistancetoattackfromacid,alkali,orotherenvironmentalfactorsbymeasurementofglossloss.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthespecularglossofporcelainenameledspecimens,butmaybeapplicabletootherspecimenshavingsimilarreflectioncharacteristics.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtocomparetheglossofporcelainenameledspecimensortoprovideanindexofacidorabrasionresistancebymeasurementofglossloss.Note18212;Specularglossisoneofseveralrelatedappearanceattributesthatproducethesensationofglossiness.Forthisreason,specularglossmeasurementsmaynotalwayscorrelatewellwithvisualrankingsofglossiness.Note28212;Improvedcorrelationswithvisualjudgmentscansometimesbeachievedbytheuseofinstrumentswithdifferentgeometriesthanthosespecifiedherein.RefertoTestMethodD523for20,60,and85-deggeometries.Valuesgenerallycannotbepredicatedforonegeometryfrommeasurementsmadewithanother.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
